Huzurpaga Smt. Durgabai Mukunddas Lohia Mahila Vanijya Mahavidyalaya
Maharashtra Girls' Education society was established on 2nd october 1884. It was indeed a milestone in girl's education. Following the direction given by the social reformist Mahatma Jotirao Phule and his revolutionary wife Savitribai, M. G. E. Society took the lead and established Huzurpaga, the second school for girls in maharashtra. With the concerted efforts of Justice Mahadev Govind Ranade, Dr. Ramakrishna Gopal Bhandarkar, Shree Shankar Pandurang Pandit, Dr. Vishram Ramaji Ghole and Shree Vaman Aabaji Modak, the M. G. E. Society was established. Their vision was to introduce modern education to Indian girls which will enrich and empower their lives. Therefore, Huzurpaga school was established with the aim of imparting education to girls and simultaneously it sought to encourage culture and discipline among its girl students. Since the past 141 years the society has come a long way and its journey has been most fulfilling and meaningful.
