Baburaoji Gholap College , Sangvi ,Pune

Pune District Education Association (P.D.E.A.), Pune, the parent body of our college, was established by the great social reformer Hon. Baburaoji Gholap in 1941 with a vision of 'Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay'. The greatest achievement of the association is that it was awarded "The Best Educational Institution Award" by the Government of Maharashtra in 2000. P.D.E.A.'s Baburaoji Gholap College, Sangvi, Pune 411027 was established in June 1989 with the motivation of Late Prof. Ramakrishna More, President of Pune District Education Association. The College was established, keeping in view the fact that there was no college of higher education within the fast-developing area of Sangvi, Aundh, Baner, Wakad, Kalewadi, Pimple Gurav, Pimple Nilakh, Thergaon, etc. The major population in this area comes from the middle class and is economically weak. There are few higher secondary schools in this area, making access to higher education a problem for students, especially for girls since other senior colleges were more than 10 km away from Sangvi. Our college has been imparting education to rural, semi-urban, and urban populations. Starting with a small student body, the college now boasts adequate classrooms, laboratories, a library, a sports center, and a well-equipped computer center. It benefits from a competent, research-oriented faculty and an efficient administrative tradition.
