One of my favorite college memories has to be how I met my best friend, Palak. ❤️
Okay everybody, I know this is a long post, but some memories deserve more than just a caption. So grab some popcorn because this is the story of how I met my best friend.
So, it was our very first day of college. We were not even given a timetable. We were just told, "Come at 7:30 AM."
Now, it was my first time in Pune. My Marathi was terrible, I knew absolutely nobody, and I was convinced making friends was going to be difficult.
I reached college, looked around like a lost tourist, and started asking random girls where my class was. They told me to go to the third floor. I went to the third floor. Someone else guided me to the Statistics Lab. I entered the classroom, saw the teacher was already there, panicked internally, and quietly sat beside a random girl.
That random girl turned out to be Palak.
The teacher started taking introductions.
"Tell us your name, your previous college, and your hobbies."
When Palak's turn came, she confidently said her hobbies were sleeping and travelling.
Honestly, that should have been my first clue that we would become friends. 😂
Then my turn came. I said my hobbies were watching K-dramas, anime, participating in skits as a funnycharecter ,and scriptwriting.
Now, when I said scriptwriting, I was not kidding. I am the same person who wrote a fake interview with Yamraj, Chitragupt, and a chudail for an assignment. I also wrote a script about a robotic boyfriend. I also became an anchor for our seniors' farewell event in second year too.
Anyway, before I start telling my entire life story...
A little later, somebody told me that the practical batch I was sitting in was actually Batch 2.
I immediately told Palak, "I do not even know which batch I belong to. How am I supposed to check?"
She told me to check my receipt because the roll number was written there.
So we both checked.
And then we both realized...
WE WERE BOTH IN THE WRONG BATCH. 😭
Not only was I sitting in the wrong batch, but the girl sitting beside me was also sitting in the wrong batch.
Turns out we both belonged to Batch 1.
Honestly, if there was an award for making a first impression, ours would be "Accidentally Entered the Wrong Classroom Together."
After that, we slowly started doing everything together.
Classes? Together.
Assignments? Together.
Studies? Together.
Practicals? Together.
College events? Together.
Teachers got so used to seeing us together that whenever one of us was absent, they would ask the other one, "Where is your friend today?" 😂
We even participated in Freshers together. The theme was a fake wedding, and we ended up playing saas and sasur.
From sitting in the wrong batch to becoming in-laws. What a journey. 😭
Then came assignments, projects, presentations, stress, panic before submissions, and somehow surviving college life together.
And now we are even doing an internship together.

I came to Pune thinking my bad Marathi would make it difficult to make friends, but somehow I ended up with the best set of friends anyone could ask for.
Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the chaos, and especially for being my translators whenever my Marathi gave up on me. 😂❤️
Who knew that one random decision to sit beside a stranger on the first day of college would turn into one of the best friendships of my life?
Sometimes the best things happen when you are completely lost.
